BEYOND F.C. TEAM UPDATES
Bradley Ferrada, Nick Nebot, and Karl Verna secure a fine win for the Reserves.
The Reserves bagged their first win of the season courtesy of three goals. Bradley Ferrara and Nick Nebot got on the scoresheet in the first half to set the ball rolling. The 3 points were all but confirmed when Karl Verna scored Beyond's third goal in the second half after their opponent's threatened to stage a come back by pulling one back. The victory, along with the draw in the first game, meant that they are now joint top of the table.
Jesse Rose scores the maiden goal of the new season for the First's.
The First Team earned their first points of the new season after their game ended 1-1. Beyond were in the ascendancy for the best part of the game. But they failed to capitalize on their domination resulting in a solitary point but are now up and running in the 2016/17 season.
Women's team put on an excellent showing en-route to victory.
Jacklyn Wong, Kianoosh Hashemzadeh, Meghan O'Grady, and Sawako Fukuchi shared the goals as Beyond Women's continue the good life in the Metropolitan Soccer League with a 4-1 win. The victory meant they hold a 100% record, albeit after 2 games. The on looking coach was extremely pleased and praised lots of solid individual performances all over the field. The 4 different goal scorers bodes well for the team as they are not heavily dependent on goals from a particular player.
Beyond win second consecutive game in the Metro West division.
A solid all round performance saw Metro secure maximum 6 points after two games. In game that saw the opponents play the better football in the first half, Beyond took the lead courtesy of a textbook move that ended with Ali Reza heading home the opener. Before long, they doubled the lead through the returning striker Larry Debuno. It wasn't until the second half after their opponents had drawn level did Beyond take control of the game. In the end, they earned a hard fought victory with Anish Malpani and Navrun Jacob adding gloss to the 4-2 win.
NYC Footy's (Williamsburg) journey comes to an end in the last 4.
Beyond's season in the NYC Footy (Williamsburg) league ended rather tamely when they lost 4-1 in the semi-finals. Having dominated the regular season with some outstanding performances, Beyond struggled to get a foothold in the crucial game. They headed into the game high on confidence but failed to translate it into a good performance. They looked out of sorts in the entire first half and were pegged back by 3 first half goals. Second half saw them play with better composure but not before letting in another goal. Phil Drapa scored a consolation goal for Beyond. It was too little too late as they were shown the exit by the only team who defeated them during regular season. They now look to bounce back in the next season which begins in a week's time.
NYC Footy - Pier 5 bag 3 points.
The team got off to a good start as far as results go but lost out on match practice courtesy of a forfeit. They earned their 3 points without having to kick a ball. They look forward to the next game and shall attempt to add to their points tally in addition to getting some game time under their belt.
