NYC Soccer Outlook

NYCFC loses yet another derby to the Red Bulls. Although earlier this month NYCFC broke its string of losses to their most bitter rival, normalcy was restored this past Sunday when the Red Bulls won 4-1 at Red Bull Arena. NYCFC's two losses combine for an aggregate score of 11-1. If the sole NYCFC win is included the score bumps up to 11-3. NYCFC is now two points ahead of the Red Bulls in first place with a -4 goal differential.

The Red Bulls extend their unbeaten streak to four games. BWP scores two goals against NYCFC to bring to total to eight goals in six games against blue NY. Thomas McNamara's quality goal just before halftime gave NYCFC little hope as they went into the half 3-1 down. The sole second half goal scored by BWP signaled the end of the game for NYCFC fans.

One point in three games drops the Cosmos to third place. What started as one of New York's best starts in their franchise history has morphed into mediocrity. Having played more games than most other teams look for the Cosmos to drop a couple more places. Despite an early 6th minute goal that capped a lovely Cosmo move the Cosmos couldn't finish any of their other many opportunities. Edmonton scored two rebound goals in the final 12 minutes to steal three points.
