NYC Footy // NYC Footy earn spot in Semi-finals after 3-0 win.
NYC Footy were greeted in their Quarter Final match by cold weather and tough conditions. In no way did that slow down the team's will to win. NYC Footy had previously faced Casa Verde in the season where they lost, but things were different this time around.
Amson Liudrew first blood for NYC Footy as he kicked a ball from long out and it found it's way into the back of the net. Nothing spectacular, just not the best day for the Casa Verde goal keeper. Still it gave NYC Footy a 1-0 lead. A close rang shot by Ryoma Morisaki gave NYC Footy their second of the game and a comfortable 2-0 lead at half time. NYC Footy then put the game to bed in the second half, with some wonderful build up play finished up with a tap in by Amson Liu. 3-0 to NYC Footy and they did not look back. After the game goalscorer Ryoma Morisaki gave his thoughts on how far the team has come this season.
"Since the beginning of the season, the team has improved dramatically. There is much more movement and our defending is far better. We are looking forward to the semi final match on Sunday." he said
Sunday is the big day for NYC Footy. If the do win the Final will be played the same day. We are all wishing them the best of luck!

Gotham Women // Gotham Women lose 2-0 to Central Park F.C.
Gotham Women were faced with a tough task this week as they faced off against Central Park F.C., a team of the highest division in the Metro League. Although Gotham Women would do their best to employ some defensive tactics, Central Park proved to be just too much for the ladies. Although Gotham Women would eventually loose 2-0, they were proud of their work. Goalkeeper Jaime Remmers had a great game as well as Tammy Lewin, Natalie Wizel, and Hassana Kwari, all deserve honorable mentions in this tough loss.
Gotham Women will look to start next season off on the right foot this June.
Groupstage // Groupstage rue missed chances in defeat
Groupstage looked to continue their form as they faced off against Hanson United. Groupstage would have a hard time from the start as they would concede the first two goals of the game. They were able to get one back before half time, as Anton Scott brought the ball out of the back and played it to Mackenzie Riley. She was able to find Luye Murphy at the far post for the first goal. The score was 2-1 at half time and things were looking up.
It wouldn't get much easier for Groupstage as they would concede two more goals in the second half, bringing the score to 4-1. The only bright spot in the half was a goal scored after a scrap in the box lead to a wide open shot for Miguel Rojas. 4-2 was the final score in faovr of Hanson United. Groupstage will look to end their season on a high note as they face Goalbusters.
