Beyond Small Sides show winning attitude as Women come from behind in opener and Sevens dominate.

Beyond's Small Sides had a clear "Never Say Die" attitude about them as they took to the pitch last weekend. Beyond Women looked to have their season off on the right foot as they fought to earn a late draw, while Beyond Sevens end a 3 game losing streak with a 3-0 win. Beyond Groupstage had the week off, but will look to their fellow Beyond teams for inspiration towards their next match. All teams will look to use this mantra and keep up their form as they head into their next round of fixtures.

Beyond Women | Beyond Women Fight Back to Draw in Season Opener

In the season opener of the Gotham Women's League being played at Pier 5 in Brooklyn, Beyond F.C. fought back from a 1-0 deficit to draw the game in the dying moments of the game.

Despite dominating the early exchanges, Beyond quickly found themselves down when a fortunate deflection and lob shot from the Oranginas striker found it's way into the net. Stung by the earlier setback, Beyond roared back into action with Player of the Game, Tammy Lewin, causing havoc for the opponents defense with her constant chasing and clever movement. The introduction of Jackie Wong on the right wing gave Beyond some more offensive firepower and the chances started to flow as she and Jean Bagtasos started to impose themselves on the game.

Kianoosh Hashemzadeh and Hassana Kwari tested the keeper from afar while Kara Coughlin rattled the upright with a screamer from outside the box. The backline of Griggs and Sit stood resolute the entire game playing with great anticipation and keeper Jamie Remmers made a fine point blank save to keep the deficit to 1-0.

Lewin's hold up play and pressure continued to cause mistakes and she combined with Kianoosh Hashemzadeh to win an indirect freekick for Beyond. Orchestrated by BagtasosJackie Wong shot toward goal and Captain Kianoosh Hashemzadeh found herself on the end of the shot to deflect it into the net for 1-1.

A strong performance with many positives to take for Beyond but they will rue the miss chances of what should have been a W in the books.

Beyond Sevens | Perez and Comia Score as Beyond Trump Strangers United 3-0

Cesar Perez and Cristina Comia notched their second goals of the season in a resounding 3-0 win for Beyond in this week's Sunday game. After three tough losses, the team was ready to bounce back and they did so in style against Strangers United.

Despite the high winds causing tough conditions, Beyond started brightly in the first half creating chance after chance but missing the critical finish. Player of the Match, Jacklyn Wong looked particularly dangerous on the wing with several crosses and a couple of shots that sailed just over. The Great Walls of Kottu and Kang stood resolute the entire game not giving the opponents even a sniff of goal and limiting them to just one shot.

Beyond turned it on in the second half, with Wong creating space on the right and zipping a cross across the face of goal that was tapped in by Captain Perez. A few minutes later, Cristina Comia chased what appeared to be a lost cause but her pressure caused a mistake from the opponents GK and she easily tapped in for the 2nd. Super Sub Max Henkel made it 3 with beautiful shot from distance close to the end of the game. Beyond go into an off week before returning to the pitch to face top of the table Oscar Health in two weeks.
